As everyone else heads for the country, why not experience the delights of a trip to Edinburgh this summer.

A city where ancient and modern merge seamlessly: medieval alleys connect contemporary buildings and ‘new’ Scottish cuisine meets traditional Scottish hospitality. Our weekend itinerary will let you discover the highlights, uncover a few secrets and learn new skills, while still giving you time to kick back, relax and unwind.

Relax and unpack before joining the rest of your group at pre supper cocktails. We’re loving Negroni’s right now.

Supper at your Edinburgh home.

We’ll have arranged a delicious two-course supper to be prepared and ready for you to heat & serve. So you’ll have plenty of time to catch up and relax together.

Supper favourites: Beef Bourguignon, buttery mashed potatoes, seasonal salad & crusty baguettes. It’s followed by tarte aux pommes and crème fraîche!

Discover Edinburgh

You’ll take a private guided walking tour of the City’s Old Town and Royal Mile with our friends at Mercat Tours, their colourful guides give the best tours filled with history and stories and can be tailored to reflect your interests from history and legend to Harry Potter and literature.

Enjoy a light lunch in town (we’ll recommend great spots). You’ll have the afternoon free to explore the City: enjoy a spot of shopping, visit one of Edinburgh’s world-famous museums or galleries or just marvel at the fabulous architecture and soak up the atmosphere of Scotland’s capital city.

Dinner is served!

Join your group for pre-dinner drinks and canapés before enjoying a private chef cooked fine dining 4-course dinner celebrating the best of Scotland’s flavours. You’ll be spoiled by attentive staff and served matching wines specially selected by our experts at L’art du Vin.

We’ll be in touch before your arrival to discuss menus and wines. Check our sample menus here.

You’ll be joined during dinner by one of the city’s finest storytellers who will regale you with stories of the City and Scottish folklore.

Tumble into bed late for some sweet Scottish dreams!  Zzzzzzz!

SUNDAY

A long lie and a lazy breakfast

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast cook by your breakfast chef. Choose from a seasonal special or if you must the full ‘Scottish’!

Blow the cobwebs away with a walk-in nearby Holyrood Park from here you can explore Duddingston Village and Dr Neils Garden (don’t miss grabbing a beer at The Sheep’s Heid, Edinburgh’s oldest pub), tour the Queen’s residence and gallery at Holyrood Palace or see inside our love-hate modernist Scottish Parliament.

2 PM – Distillery tour & tasting

We’ve arranged a private tour of Holyrood Distillery. Enjoying a guided flavour-forward experience, you will learn how gin and whisky are made, and about both the traditions and innovative new methods in craft distilling employed at Holyrood – Scotland’s newest distillery! This is a hands-on sensory experience, taking in both the gin and whisky distilleries, with opportunities for tasting and nosing throughout.

Alfresco dining

Later in the afternoon return to 94DR and light the BBQ and pizza oven to enjoy a sociable afternoon into evening cooking. We’ll have delivered great steaks, seafood, and sides – all you’ll need to kick back and enjoy being together in your private garden and terrace at 94DR.
